Frustrating

Here I am 2 months after having my twins and I'm still a good 15 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight. I was hoping that breastfeeding twins would help me lose all the weight quickly but it looks like that isn't happening. I HATE the stage that I'm in right now because I can't fit into most of my pre-pregnancy clothes. I think I have one pair of jeans that I'm able to squeeze my hips into but my disgusting belly hangs over them. I can't fit into hardly any of my shirts either. So where does that leave me? Yeah, I'm still wearing some of my maternity stuff and I HATE IT!. The maternity pants fall off of me because they're too big. So I'm in this sick in between stage where my maternity clothes are too big but my regular clothes are too small. I don't want to go out and buy new clothes (which would then be called my "fat clothes") because I am hoping to lose all of the weight.

To speed this process up, I decided to get a gym pass. I've never had my own gym pass before (although I have been to gyms many times). Tonight I went to the gym for the first time in years and realized that I am SO out of shape. And I also realized something....I hate exercising. My legs are burning, my knees feel like they're about to crack, and I start to get a cramp in my stomach. I always feel good afterward but when I'm actually doing it, I just can't wait to stop. Back in high school I ran track my Sophomore year. I remember it being really hard at first but then I grew to love running as the semester went on. I certainly hope that's the case here too.

I took a picture the other day and thought about posting it as my "before" picture, but I was just too disgusted with it. Hopefully I will lose all of my weight and then I can post a before and after picture (although I'm sure I'll post a picture of myself on here when the babies get blessed in two weeks). Anyway, I'm excited to start exercising again. And sorry for using the word "hate" so much but I'm frustrated.

P.S. I'll post some more pictures soon of the babies. They are so stinkin' cute!

OH! I here ya!! It's so frustrating. I'm between 10 and 15 pounds above pre-pregnancy weight too. I've put off going shopping too, but I think I'm going to give in. Luckily it's gotten colder and I can wear my sweaters to cover things up. There's maybe a handful of shirts I feel ok about wearing, but I have to wear a tank under to "suck" things in.
Before I had Danica, mu mom told me that she'd lose weight fast except for the last 10 lbs, she wouldn't lose until she stopped nursing. Then I read somewhere that your body usually holds onto an extra 5 to 10 lbs when you're nursing in case you get sick or something and lose a bunch of weight fast, you can still provide for your baby. I guess for me it's an extra 10 to 15 lbs... and I'm not providing for two babies. Even so, it doesn't make getting dressed or feeling cute any easier.

LOL LOL LOL!!!! I know it's not funny but the way you put it honestly, I loved it! I'm not to familiar with pregnancy weight but don't worry it's only been 2 months. Now that your friends with the GYM you'll be shrinking. :) Even though I'm sure you look fabulous because you always do!

oh, i hate that stage too!!! you just want to wear a cute pair of jeans; it's a test of patience for me. but i know how you feel! i feel like i'm in the stage but on the opposite end....12 weeks pregnant, but I don't look pregnant yet, it just looks like I'm gaining weight. anyway....hey, still let me know if you want us to play with Hannah sometime so you can sleep while the babies are sleeping or whatever.

One of the best things about being over 50 is looking back at pics of myself in my 20's & 30's including when my daughter was a new babe and nursing and realizing that I really looked a lot cuter than I thought then!

Good on ya for the gym pass Maran!
Keep goin!

Just remember, it took you nine months to put on all the weight so you have AT LEAST nine months to get it all off. And seriously, you were tiny when you got pregnant so you probably look perfect right now. But I do understand the frustration of not fitting into clothes. It's so depressing. Good luck with the gym. I wish we lived by each other so we could motivate each other.

I agree with what Emily said about losing the last ten pounds or so while you are nursing. The same thing happened to me more than once. Its like my body would not let go of the extra weight and I was so jealous of those who said the weight fell off while they were nursing! You will lose it. Try to be patient with yourself. I am glad you are going to the gym because it does make you feel better over all. Love ya

Maran I've been trying to get rid of these last 10 lbs for about a year now. I thought running would do it, but no such luck. Just be sure to share your secret when you do lose them!

I think only having 15 lbs left at two months after having one baby is good, and you had two!! I'm sure you look great! btw...Your girls are adorable :)

I wish I only had 15! I think that's pretty awesome after only two months.
