"Millions of peaches, peaches for me! Millions of peaches, peaches for FREE!"

Last night we did something that we've never done before: pick peaches. It was a lot of fun! Our bishop has a friend who has a peach orchard and he needed to get rid of them because they are getting too ripe. So, we went with a few other couples to go pick some peaches. Hannah's B.F.F., Kelly, was there, too, so I think she loved it even more because of that.

Above is Hannah with our friend, Rachel, who is Kelly's mama.

Look at ALL of the peaches we got for FREE! There is somewhere close to 100 pounds here.
I am SO proud of myself because today I did something with those peaches. I became quite the little home-maker! I canned some peaches and I also made peach jam! This is so not my style to do stuff like this, but it was a lot of fun! Actually, more work than fun, but I feel like I accomplished something. Our kitchen looks like a tornado hit, and I am so exhausted that I don't feel like doing a single lick of cleaning, but oh well.
We still have 5 bags of peaches and I don't know what to do with them. I will probably can a few more jars tomorrow, but then who knows what I'll do with the rest of the peaches? Peach cobbler, peaches and cream, peach pie, ........? I think I'll be really sick of peaches by the end of the week, but for now I am SO glad that we were able to do that activity with Hannah and that I was able to do something with them.

Luckyyyyy! I wish I could grab one through my computer. Since living in Arizona, I have come to know that Utah has a reputation for having awesome peaches. There is a farmer's market here that is advertising Utah peaches, and Nielsen's frozen custard in Mesa has a sign up, "Peach cobbler made with Utah peaches".
Great job canning- those would make a awesome Christmas gift- hint hint :)

Since my SIL is still in your ward they went and got a TON and we made jam last night too! Someone gave me a recipe for a really easy cobbler - mix a pack of yellow cake mix with 1/2 cup of butter, put a layer of sliced, peeled, peaches then put the cake mix on top and bake at 350 for 30 min or so. Yeah, canning and making jam is not something I normally do either so it was fun to feel so homemake-y! :) Good job!

Wow, that was a lot of work! Way to go Maran! I have a good peach pie recipe if you'd like. You can bring some to your visiting teachees (or to me) if you can't eat them all before they go bad.

Wow Maran...you are little miss suzie homemaker! :) I'm jealous...I love peaches. If they'd keep in the mail, I'd say mail me some! Those jars of jam look fantastic and peach cobbler sounds to die for! What a fun thing to do with your family...and free!

What a little domestic diva you are! A few of my friends canned a bunch of peaches last week...it's a lot of work. And by the way, your hair is still super cute!

How fun! I LOVE peaches!! LOVE THEM. I can't believe how big Kelly is now! I mean, it makes sense, but I guess it's been a lot longer since I've seen her compared to Hannah. Crazy!

Great job Maran!! I am proud of you. Those peaches look awesome. It is possible to slice and freeze them, but not exactly sure how to. Look it up on the internet. Maybe I can taste some of that jam when we come up? Those peaches look delish!
