Bumps and Bruises

Yesterday Hannah received the first bruise on her face. I don't know if you can see it in this picture (it's on her upper left cheek), but it looked pretty painful. She knocked her face on a wooden tray. I still have nightmares of myself bumping my head or slipping on the kitchen floor while it's wet. Maybe all of the times we hurt ourselves as children is the reason why when we are falling asleep we think about scary things like this and jump (or is it just me that does that? I did slip and fall on the kitchen floor several times after mom mopped it as a child....maybe more than most children do). On a side note, Hannah is a typical girl who loves sparkly jewelry. I gave her some bracelets and a necklace to place with while I was in the shower and when I came out, she had all three bracelets around her wrist and the necklace around her neck.

As far as the bump goes, Scott got rear-ended last week on his way home from work. The only damage it did was this perfectly round circle. If you look closely, you can actually see two circles. My only guess would be that this was the indent from the screws on their license plate. It's kind of strange, though.

I remember you falling on the newly mopped floor all of the time. That's so funny. Glad you never got really hurt. Poor Hannah though. Hopefully she won't have to fall too many times before she learns. And as far as the slipping and falling dreams, you're not alone. I just had one last week and woke myself up in the middle of it. I apologized to Jarin, had a little laugh at myself, and rolled over and went back to sleep.

Sorry Maran but I have to laugh at you always falling on the floor. I can remember seeing you running towards and floor and screaming "Stop I just washed the floor!" but too late, down you went. Luckily, nothing was ever broken. You just were an active little thing. Poor Hannah, it won't be the last bruise unfortunately. I think it hurts mom and dad's feelings worse than the kids actual pain to see them fall down.
As far as the rear end bump goes, are you going to get anything to fix that or do you have to pay a deductible first? Luckily, Scott didn't get whip lash and the car wasn't damaged any worse than that. It does look like the screws from the license plate.
Hannah is a girl after my own heart. She loves the sparklies.:)

Poor Hannah, it wont be the last for her either.Thats the down side of learning to walk.I think it is more tramatic for us then it is for them.I can pretty much remember all my kids bad bruise and injuries.

I too have many memories of falling on the wet floor. Mom must have washed that floor every Saturday (actually I remember washing it all the time on my hands and knees). Anyway, I used to wake up with those falling dreams all the time but now that I'm pregnant I wake up because I all of the sudden get a charlie horse in my calf. I guess I should eat more bananas. Anyhoo, sorry about Hannah bruise and your car. The screws are too funny.
