And the A+ goes to.........

Kerrie!!!! The doctor said that he thinks Hannah has eczema. I have to admit I was was a bit surprised by this. I thought for sure she either had a food allergy or a rash from her pacifier. The reason I didn't think it was because of her teeth is because she doesn't drool. The only time I see wetness around her mouth is right after she has sucked on a pacifier. So, sorry Jed, Hannah will be sent to North Carolina, not New York. Maybe next time. Anyway, I'm not so sure that eczema is what she has. We've been using ointment for the past couple of days and her rash is looking worse to me. Sorry you couldn't see the rash in the picture I posted. It's a lot more noticeable in real life. I hope we can get rid of it soon.

Hey Maran,
Sorry to hear that Hannah has eczema.Dominic has it too.He had a really bad case when he was 11 months old.He got it on his face, behind his ears, and his back and belly.Samantha never had it, so I was stumped too when he got it.They say that the change in weather brings it out, also I think it is hereditary. When I took him to the doctor, the doctor said just put some lotion on it like,Eucerin. So I used it for 2 days, and it made it worse!Dominc would scream and his back got so bad it was like bright red leather.I was in tears, I called the advice nurse and they said to put hydrocortizone 1% on it, it helped so much, the next day it looked 100% better.I also looked on line and I found out that sometimes if the rash is already there the Eucerin cream makes it worse and it stings, it supposed to be used as a mositures so they dont get break outs.I was so mad at that doctor! So, now when I notice it I use the hydocortizone for a day or so, and then I use Aquaphor.Well, I hope my experience maybe helps you!By the way Hannah is just a doll, cant wait to see her in December!

That's very interesting. Sisi gets bad eczema every winter on her back and diaper area. Last winter she also had an extrememly flaky scalp, which was unusual for an older baby. My other three never had eczema, but I get it every winter and pregnancy. Supposedly people with eczema are more susceptible to allergies too. We used Aquaphor on Sienna and it seemed to work.

Whew, I was starting to second guess my answer after I saw everyone's answers. But I guessed Eczema because I believe Allie has had it in the past too. She always got a rash around her face and diaper area when the weather would change. And Hollie...Allie got weird brown spots on her head last winter that eventually flaked off too. Weird. Our kids must all have sensitive skin and it must come from the Price side. I know I have sensitive skin. Anyway, I can't wait to see Hannah. When shall I pick her up at the airport?

Interesting. That makes more sense since you don't usually drool up. I guess I'm the oddball, nobody in my family has had eczema. In fact I have perfect skin (in my dreams).
