The big 2-4

My birthday was really fun yesterday! It started with rolling out of bed at 7:50am for my 8:15am class and almost missing my quiz. Luckily, I didn't miss it and got a 9 out of 10, which started off the day well. When I came home from class, Scott had a delicious Slurpy (sp) waiting for me because they are my favorite. Then he bought me some Quiznos for lunch, another favorite. After that I decided I just wanted to do something low key that we could do with Hannah, so we went to the Dinosaur Museum in Lehi. It's been years since I've been to a museum like that. The cost was $9.50 a person and I must admit, it really was not worth the cost but I'm still grateful we were able to do it just this once (and probably never again until our kids are older). We were only there for about an hour, but it was amazing to see the different fossils. I can't believe these things actually lived on the earth. I've got to be honest with you, I don't know how the whole dinosaur thing fit in with the Earth's creation. Were they here when humans were? Science has it's theories, but who really knows for sure?
Scott getting eaten by a raptor.
Hannah hanging out with a dino.
If you look closely, you can see the T-Rex in the background. I definitely wouldn't want that thing running at me. It has huge teeth.
Hannah and I are scared of Jaws(thank goodness that's not a real fossil because those things actually still exist, which is why I get scared sometimes to swim in the ocean). They had some extremely scary fossils of sea creatures, though, that were real. I've never seen anything like it. If I saw something like those in the ocean, I think I would faint.
Something that's actually alive!! Hannah really liked looking at the fish.

After the museum, we took Hannah home for a nap. For dinner, we went to P.F. Changs, which made my stomach ache, but it was still delicious. Then we walked around the mall for a little bit and looked for a swim suit for me, but no luck. We came home after that and put Hannah to bed, got some ice cream, and watched a movie. It was a great birthday and I'm lucky to have such a wonderful husband who would take a day off of work for me and do the things that I wanted to do.

Had to throw in a Father's Day picture as well, especially since they match.

Today we went to the little water park down the road with Hannah for the first time (I can't remember what it's called). We only stayed for an hour and a half but I think she really enjoyed it. She loved playing in the kiddie pool and getting squirted with water. It was an incredibly hot day, too....perfect for swimming. I hope that we can go more this summer. I really enjoy getting out and doing fun things like that. If you're wondering what the big scratch on Hannah's face is from, she got her first big owie yesterday when she fell from a sitting position onto a book. It's most likely the first of many wounds to come.

Here are some more pictures of Hannah! She loves to sleep on her tummy now. We lay her down on her back and find her on her tummy a few minutes later.

Last night we went to Tucanos with Scott's Uncle Brian and Aunt Gail. They had a baby last November and Hannah seemed to make instant friends with her. I guess you would call her Hannah's second cousin (????). I'm not really sure about those cousin terms, like second cousin, first cousin once removed, etc but she is Scott's first cousin, so whatever that makes her to Hannah. Tucanos was delicious and it was nice to see some of Scott's family again. Well, I figured I would do some more random thoughts today, since we haven't had a whole lot going on this week.
1. Alias- As Scott mentioned, I like the show Alias. We've rented all of the seasons and I can't seem to get enough of it. I usually don't start watching until after Hannah has gone to bed and sometimes I stay up until 12:00am to watch it. The same guy that created Lost, created Alias. It's kind of like Lost in that some episodes are awesome and others are dumb and it's a bit unrealistic. It's also a little bit like 24 in that there is one main character that beats up the bad guys, but I like it because none of the main characters die like they do in 24 and there is actually a really great love story in it...(what can I say, I'm a sucker for happy endings).
2. Comparisons- It's hard, sometimes, not to compare your child to other children. For example, there is a baby in our ward that is the same age as Hannah and is already standing while holding on to things. Hannah still can't even crawl, yet...... but to be honest, I'm actually grateful for that. I'm not ready for her to crawl or stand on her own yet.
3. Blisters- What's up with my feet having several blisters on them all throughout the summer? Every single sandal I purchase gives me a blister.....except for one. I have some black Tommy flip flops from Scott's mom that don't give me blisters. I pretty much wear them everyday. I just have too wide of feet to wear with anything else.
4. I have finals again next week and a research paper due on Monday. I can't believe how fast it's gone by. Well, I don't have any more random thoughts at the moment, but here is a video of Hannah clapping with me. Enjoy!!!

Well, Maran said that I needed to blog, but that I am not allowed to talk about the Kings, even though they were very close to signing a very good coach last week (click here). I can talk about, though, the fact that today Hannah is 8 months old. She is getting big too fast if you ask me. Her favorite thing to do now is clap her hands, which Maran mentioned last time. Other than that, our lives are pretty boring right now. Maran is finishing up her first class of the summer, only to start a new one as soon as she is done, and I am about half way through the two classes that I am taking. Work is work, not much new to report there, it has good days and not so good days, but hopefully I will be able to go to part time in the fall so that I can finish up school.
Lately, Maran and I have been watching Alias, which we have not seen before. In my opinion, it is not that great of a show, but I can't stop from watching it, so I guess I think it is pretty good. Maran likes it better than I do, and she is about 10 episodes ahead of me.
Other than that, there is nothing. Hannah went to go get some pictures taken at Wal-Mart yesterday, while I did some grocery shopping. Tonight Maran is making some Cafe Rio chicken salad, which I am extremely excited about. I promise our next post will be better.

Hannah is finally sitting in her high chair. We used to just feed her in her bouncer.

I think Hannah is going to be a dentist when she's older. She loves to play with my teeth and mouth. You know, to be honest, sometimes I feel like I have nothing to blog about....which is why it takes me awhile to post sometimes. Here's what's happened this week:

Yesterday Scott and I were able to go to the temple for the first time since Hannah has been born, which was really nice. Hollie and Jarin watched Hannah for 4 hours (I had no idea it would take that long) while Scott and I went to the temple together and enjoyed a delicious meal at Arby's afterwards. That's the longest I've ever left Hannah with someone. I'm really glad it was Hollie that was able to watch her, though, and not some random neighbor. We might have one of Scott's single guy friends from work come over our house this week after Hannah's already gone to bed and watch her late at night so we can go to a movie. The thought of having a guy who has never had a baby before watch her scares me a bit, but he said he would bring his sister with him and Hannah will be sleeping anyway. We've had many people offer to watch her, but it's hard to know who to trust.

Today I woke up to a small pain right beneath my left eye, and it has become really tender throughout the day. I'm not sure what the problem is. Anyone ever had that happen to them? It is very red and swollen (that's what she said...ok that's a dumb joke that was on The Office for Kerrie and Jake). I hope I don't wake up to a huge, puffy eye tomorrow.

On Tuesday I have my midterm in my spring term class. I can't believe the term is already more than half way over. I have no motivation for this class, though, because it's a pretty easy class and my teacher just uses power points that were taken directly from the text book. There really is no point in even going to class, but I do anyway.

Well, that's about the extent of my my exciting week. Scott's just been working all week, so I'm guessing his week hasn't been much more exciting. Hannah is more adorable than ever, and is learning how to clap her hands.

PS We got all our money back from those fraudulent charges. YIPPI!
