A Much Needed Re-Boost

This week all three of my babies are sick. Boo. Bailey and Brynn have it much worse than Hannah does. I feel really bad for them. Two nights ago was exhausting. Bailey got up every two hours, coughing and sniffling. The next day I was a bit grumpy and having a debate in my head whether or not I wanted another child. I know it's ridiculous to think about having another child right now, but I think about it all the time (not getting pregnant right now, just thinking about the future). It's a constant battle in my mind of weighing out the pros and cons to having only 3 children. The reason I think about it so much is because if these girls are my last children, I want to enjoy every minute of it. Some days I feel like I just can't wait for them to get older. Don't get me wrong, I love having them as babies SO much. They are so sweet, but some days I'm just exhausted taking care of them. Some days I feel like I've lost myself. This is what I usually look like.

Hair pulled back tight and no makeup on. I'm lucky if I put makeup on twice a week. Actually, I'm lucky if I brush my teeth and put on deodorant everyday. Sick, I know, but sometimes there's just not enough time for me to do these things. Then I look at myself in the mirror and think, ' Man, I look like an old, saggy mother.' So anyway, I was having a rough day the other day and then something great happened.

I got over six hours of straight sleep last night!!! That hasn't happened in probably 6 months. Even when I was pregnant with the girls I had to get up every 2 hours to go to the bathroom. I have actually been really blessed because the girls sleep really well for me.....usually somewhere between 7 and 9 hours straight and then another 3-4 hours after that. The problem is, they go to bed at 7pm, so they are usually getting up around 2:30am or 3am. I usually don't go to bed until around 11pm, so I was only getting 3- 4 hour increments of sleep. Anyway, last night Brynn slept for over 12 hours and Bailey slept for 9 and a half and then another 4 hours after that. I went to bed last night at 10pm and didn't have to wake up until 4:30am. It was just what I needed to re-boost my energy. I love my girls so so much!!

You look great with no make up! You are a perfect mom, thinking of your girls needs first!
And nice work little twiners giving your mom some rest. You should do that more often :) Hang in there Maran

I guess those little girls know what their mommy needs sometimes! You are such a great mom to them! Keep up the good work:)

Maran, it's amazing what being sleep deprived can do to you. I'm with you on the no sleeping when pregnant (it starts first trimester)--so I'm already exhausted from the get go.

I'm so glad you got a little rest. I hope they feel better soon, it's always scary when babies are sick. I wish I was up there so I could watch the girls for you while you get some time for yourself.

You look fabulous with or without makeup.

PS- the babies are sooo cute! It looks like Bailey's eyes are pretty blue?? I love the pictures on the side bar-- Hailey saw Brynn and said, "that looks like me." I do think she resembles Hailey's baby pictures at that age.

Hang in there Girly! The best thing you can do is admit when you are having a tough time. This too shall pass and you will look back and smile and probably want to do it all over again.
Dont feel bad asking for help, even if its an hour so you can take a much needed nap.
Im thinking about you and those beautiful girls. I wish we were closer so I could watch them for you. ;)

Yay! That's exciting news!! ( sleeping, not the girls being sick.) I bet that was such a great feeling, and I hope it continues.
Last night was my first night too being able to sleep about 6 hours straight, cause I would do the same thing as you (plus, since we put Danica in her own room I have only slept in like 2 hour increments... if that.)
I hope everyone starts feeling better really soon!

Maran, you're doing great! I'm sorry you had a rough week at first. Seriously call me when that happens and I'll come get the girls so you can rest. Those girls are getting so beautiful! I just want to eat them up. I'm glad they eventually allowed you to rest.

I'm so sorry your babies are sick. That is no fun at all! But, wow, they slept so good for you that night. I hope it continues. I know how hard it is to be a happy and patient mama when you don't get any sleep. And I agree with everyone else, you look gorgeous without make up too. If I don't put make up on, or very little, I get told that I look exhausted. You ARE exhausted and you don't have make up on and yet you still look amazing. And all three of your girls are babe-i-licious!

Wow, I am late checking your blog! I am so sorry the babes are sick. I agree with everyone else that I would take them for a few hours so you can rest if I were next to you. My advice (although not asked for) is to enjoy them as if they were your last. You never know. They will grow up so fast and this will become a long ago memory when they are 12+ etc. Your girls are absolutely beautiful. I miss them and you. Hang in there. You are beautiful and giving the utmost service to your children.Love ya.
