Little Miss Independent

Hannah has become Miss Independent lately. Those of you who said that she would eventually become picky with her food were right. Every night during dinner she has to eat her food with an adult fork, like Scott and me, and only eats things that don't have a weird texture. Some of the only veggies she will eat are green beans, corn (not really a veggie), and occasionally squash. She also always has to feed herself, usually with a fork or a spoon. In the morning when she eats her oatmeal, she tries to feed herself with her spoon and usually gets it all over the place. She is getting better and better at it, which is good for us, but it's hard to let her do it because she gets food everywhere. Another thing she likes to do by herself is blow bubbles. I have a bottle of bubbles that I used to blow with her, and now she has to blow the bubbles herself. She usually gets the bubble juice (soap) all over the place and puts the wand in her mouth. I want her to be independent, but it gets hard when she can't do things without making a huge mess. She also enjoys brushing her teeth and hair, coloring, and holding books by herself, but luckily lets us help her with these occasionally.

Hannah is getting to be such a big girl. She is a cutie pie! Madison makes a big mess when she feeds herself, too! But she is getting better and more food makes it in her mouth. Hannah does a great job at walking with her walker. She'll be on the run by herself in no time. I get a little sad because she is so independent that she doesn't always let us help her at times. Madison's new thing is wanting to tie her shoes. How's school coming along? Are you almost finished? Talk to you soon.

Teresa- School is coming along fine. I just took a final today for an online class, and then I will take two more finals for regular classes in 3 weeks. Then I will be finished forever!!! You guys need to get a blog so that I can see pictures of Madison!!

I totally know what you mean. You want them to learn, but it's such a long and messy process. Unfortunately, the independence just gets worse as she becomes a 2 year old. Allie has to have control over almost everything these days.
Hannah is so adorable. I love the bubble head picture. Can't wait to see you guys in a couple weeks.

Maran,

I decided to take your advice on creating a blog especially since we moved to Hanford. My brother started one a while ago and I never bothered to do anything with it until today. Being that I'm not sure how this works, should I provide you with our blog address or can you access it somehow? Thanks for the advice and help.

I can't believe Hannah is already doing that- she is so smart. Hannah reminds me of Hailey in that sense. To this day if I do something for Hailey that she wanted to do herself, we have to start all over so that she can do it. It takes much patience when you're in a hurry. I guess I would much rather have an independent little girl then a very dependent one.

Love the bubbles on her head. She is adorable. Glad that she is independent. Now that she is in her second year, the fun begins! :) MOM
