Six Months!!

Hannah is now 6 whole months old. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. Today we took her to see the doctor again. She was 14 lbs 15oz, which is 27 th percentile and 26 inches long, which is about 50th percentile. She also got 4 more shots. Speaking of shots, I was watching Oprah the other day and they were talking about kids with autism. It kind of scared me because one of the mothers thought that her baby got autism because of the immunizations. While I don't think I agree with that, it still made me think about whether or not I should let Hannah get her shots. They say autism can occur anytime between birth and two years of age. I think she'll be alright, though. Here are a couple of pictures I took on her sixth month birthday. Yes, I love taking close-ups of her.

Hannah loves to be outside. This was the first time she got to lay in the grass. I think she really liked it.
Hannah tried squash for the first time this week. She really didn't like it at first. I think it's growing on her, though, the more and more we give it to her.
We hope you all have a wonderful week!!! Wish us luck on our finals next week!!!!

She's such a petite baby...she's adorable. Allie was over 17 lbs at 6 months. I love that picture of Hannah eating squash. That's probably what I look like while eating squash too. Good luck on your finals! I'm excited to see you soon.

I love the close up picture of Hannah. She is so cute!

I have heard the same thing about autism and immunizations so I did some research a while ago. The theory is that it is not the immunizations themselves, but a preservative called thimerosol, which is a derivative of mercury. When there is too much mercury in the body it effects the brain. Supposively, thimerosol has been taken out of vaccines since 2003 (??), but one website advised to just ask to see the immunization ingredient insert and read it for yourself. The flu shot still has it in it. The whole theory is not proven, but it never hurts to ask. I wonder why autism would be on the rise still, if the preservative has been taken out for the past couple of years. It seems like we would start to see a large drop in the number of cases if this was true. I think there may be a number of factors including genetics. However, I am going to ask to see the inserts the next time Ella gets immunized. (Ok, I stepped off my soap box).

Man, I love those pictures of her making the scrunchy face! I love it when kids her age express their personality through the only outlets they have--scrunchy faces and screaming voices.
