A Tribute to President Hinckley- 1910-2008
I have been preparing myself for President Hinckley's death for some time now, so I was not surprised when I came home tonight from visiting teaching to Scott with watery eyes, telling me that he had passed away around 7:00pm. He has been a wonderful man and prophet, and when I think of my adolescent/teen/young adult years, he will be the prophet that I will remember. He was always happy, and you could tell that he had a certain light about him. I know that he is going straight to heaven with his wife Marjorie. Anyway, I just wanted to do a tribute to him because I love him very much and am grateful for him.

I agree. He will be deeply missed by many.
I too was waiting for this day and yet at the same time, I was still shocked. He is a WONDERFUL man and although he is in a better place with his wife, the selfish side of me wishes he were still here leading and teaching us.
It's going to be so weird not having him at conference. He has pretty much been in the first presidency for most of our lives. I love that man. I will miss him.
He didn't look good at the Christmas Fireside and I knew his time was short. I prayed that he wouldn't have to suffer long. He was amazing. He was truly a Prophet of God.
We found out while we were at my parents house for my mom's birthday and my Brother in law came in the room, and told us he just got a call and that Pres. Hinckley had died. Everyone broke down right there in the middle of the kitchen. It was so sad, but I'm glad that he can be with his wife again, he was never the same after she passed away.
