Happy 8 Months!

Holy Cow!! Has it already been 8 months?? It's true what I've been told; the first year with twins is like a whirlwind. Sometimes I feel like I don't even have a minute to sit back and think (except for right now...the girls are asleep and Hannah is at a friend's house). It's really hard for me to even remember what it was like that first month with the girls. It feels like a long time ago, but not that long ago. Wow, I'm confusing even myself here. You know what I'm excited for??? To stop breastfeeding in 4 months. I love it, but it's a little more challenging with two and both girls like to bite HARD (P.S. Brynn's first tooth poked through today!!!). I'm excited for them to be eating real food and drinking out of a sippy cup because feeding them honestly takes up a lot of time. The good thing is, they've both started eating finger foods. They haven't mastered picking up smaller pieces with their fingers just yet, but they're getting it. One of the problems is that Brynn is still not sitting up. In fact, she refuses. I try to get her to sit and she arches her back. At this rate, she won't be sitting until she's a year old!! Oh well. If there's one thing I've learned as being a parent, it's that each of my children are different. Brynn's been stubborn since the day she was born. Adorable, but stubborn. Another example: Every time she gets sick I have to retrain her to sleep through the night. She's gotten sick every month since November, so there's been a lot of crying going on. Poor thing. I feel sorry for her, but she's got to stop waking up in the middle of the night.

Anyway, I just love my girls. Some days are so hard with them and I'm so tired and so grumpy and I feel like the world's worst mother because I lose my patience with the drop of a hat. They make me happy, though. I love the adorable little things that they do, too, like when Brynn scrunches her face and blows really hard through her nose or when Bailey laughs when I tickle her neck. I love Brynn's little raspy voice and the way she likes to talk to herself, and I love the way Bailey learned how to play Peek-a-Boo recently (she puts something over her face, lowers it really quick and then laughs after I say, "Boo").

Well, they are both screaming now and in need of my attention, but I just wanted to take a minute and reflect on the past 8 months. I wouldn't change it for anything.

H-A-P-P-Y S-T. P-A-T-R-I-C-K-S D-A-Y T-O Y-O-U!

I love St. Patricks Day, even if it means I have to wear the one ugly green shirt that I have. The reason I love it.....THE FOOD....and I suppose it's also a way to celebrate my Irish background!! I do love corned beef, though! It's SO SO SO delicious! I could bathe myself in corned beef. Just kidding. That's actually really disgusting. But anyway, here's what we had for dinner tonight:

Corned beef, cabbage, carrots, green mashed potatoes, yummy salad, and rolls with green butter. We also had green Tampico but it was WAY too sugary. I couldn't even drink a cup of it.

Too bad my table cloth doesn't fit our table.

For dessert, I let Hannah choose these cookies from the grocery store. They're cute, but thank goodness Scott and I will be enjoying some mint chocolate chip ice cream later on tonight. As you can tell from Hannah's face, they're hard as rocks.

And here are some pictures we took yesterday. We had a picnic in front of the temple because it was a BEAUTIFUL day!! Spring time really just makes me happy.

I Don't Know What to Title This

I need to get those pictures of me off the top of my blog, so here's another post. Thank you to those of you who commented on my last post. It feels really good to hear nice things when you've worked so hard, so you all made my week! Now to the cuter part of my family.....the girls!! Here are a few pictures.

I tried SO hard to get Brynn to smile in the above picture. Jumped around, yelled, laughed hysterically at her, sung, tickled her, and I got nothing. There's something about a camera in their faces that intrigues them......maybe it's the gargantuan lens and extremely bright flash.

It was pure luck that I got the above one of Bailey.

As you've probably seen at the top of my blog, I dressed my girls up in the same shirt and took pictures of them. I liked this one of Hannah, except for the fact that her fly is unbuttoned. I got these shirts for $2.50 at Children's Place. You can't beat that!

And finally, Happy Valentine's Day to me!!

Wanna know a secret??

My previous wedding ring was real gold, but had a fake diamond on it. I told Scott that that was what I wanted before we got engaged. I personally find it silly to go into major debt to get a huge diamond ring, so we didn't. Six years later and a nice tax return, I finally got my diamonds. My previous ring was a solitaire, but I decided I wanted something different this time. It's not your typical wedding ring, but I love it. It's very sparkly! Who knows, maybe in ten more years I'll get a new one. Who says you have to wear the same ring your whole life? Not I.
